My drummer James is a big Alejandro fan, and we went to see him live in nashville last summer - figured I'd hop on board to mess with this one once I heard the piano riff 😉. This was a fun one - when transcribing it I wasn't sure whether I should 'fix' the notes that, to me, sound like they were misses from the notes that fit in the arpeggios. I ended up not tinkering with it, so I played it note-for-note (to the best I can pick out) the same as the track. I also went about recording this in an interesting way: In order to keep that sort of off-kilter authenticity to it, I immediately began attempting to record this without practicing or really working on the fingering patterns slowly. Over a couple separate days I just turned on the camera and rolled the mics for 15-20 minutes and just ran it until I got a semi-accurate take, before it got any smoother and fluid. Aiming to match the vibe of the song rather than going for anything super polished. Hope it comes across effectively.
