Nathan Gass is my favorite mathrock guitarist. full stop. Partly because he is capable of branching out to other genres (see his Ginji project), but when he chooses to compose in the mathrock umbrella it results in thoughtful riffs that balance twinkles with interesting motion.

I transcribed a few of his riffs to adapt them to piano back in 2016 just to see what worked on piano versus what didn't. Of the 4 included here, I think #3 is the weakest on piano, while #1 and #4 translate most effectively.
