As a permanent member of Aviations now for a few years, it is fun to look back at how it all started: After meeting James Knoerl through some Tigran covers on the internet and recording for his With a Smile project, a year later I flew up to Boston as a session musician to record for the aviations album that would be The Light Years, as well as to record & film a guest solo for this fun Intents reissue they were assembling. Literally the first time meeting anyone in the band in person, recording an album & a single (& also the songs for the Blumen/With a Smile Banana Split EP) in a weekend was a whirlwind of running around to studios and apartments to record pianos, Rhodes, and some gang vocals.

ANYWAY all that to say, here's a cleaned up transcription for the full piano solo that I had originally written (it ended up being trimmed down to about half this length for time on the actual track).

UPDATE August 2021 - Every time I go back and look at this transcription I change my mind on what key to use - c# minor vs db minor, either way there's a ton of accidentals and pros and cons to each. SO, I have added both versions to this download, and you can just pick whichever key you prefer to read from.
